Supply-Side Infrastructure#
Supply-Side Platform delivers services for Publishers, or acts on their behalf.
Supply-Side Platform consists of Supply-Side Platform, its Supply-Side Agent (which is embedded in the Site), and optionally an Ad Select Module.
Adshares Protocol defines the following interactions between Supply-Side Platform and other entities within the Adshares Ecosystem:
Supply-Side Platform calls Site Tagging Provider to tag the Sites that remain under its control. This is needed for Supply-Side Platform to be able to properly define its Supply-Side Inventory.
Supply-Side Platform verifies tags assigned to Creatives by checking Creative Tagging Provider’s signature.
Supply-Side Platform calls Context Provider to retrieve Context Data regarding Users, Sites and Devices.
Supply-Side Platform shares the received Click Events with Demand-Side Platform which a given Creative belongs to.
Supply-Side Platform calls Demand-Side Platform to receive a Payment Report.
Supply-Side Platform and Supply-Side Agent are free to communicate in any way they choose, as this communication is not part of Adshares Protocol. Thus, any interactions between Supply-Side Platform and its Supply-Side Agent (e.g. notifications about Impression Events) are not covered by Adshares Protocol.
Whereas the communication between Supply-Side Platform and its Ad Select Module might be part of Adshares Protocol in case Ad Select Module is externalized and delivered by a third-party Software Provider. If this is the case, Supply-Side Platform calls its Ad Select Module to outsource to it the process of generating a list of Creatives.
The details of the communication between Supply-Side Platform and its Ad Select Module are described in the Ad Select Service section.
