Demand-Side Infrastructure#
Demand-Side Platform delivers services for Advertisers, or acts on their behalf.
Demand-Side Platform consists of Demand-Side Platform, its Demand-Side Agent (which is embedded in the Target), and optionally an Ad Pay Module.
Adshares Protocol defines the following interactions between Demand-Side Platform and other entities within the Adshares Ecosystem:
Demand-Side Platform calls Creative Tagging Provider to tag the Creatives that remain under its control. This is needed for Demand-Side Platform to be able to properly define its Demand-Side Inventory.
Demand-Side Platform verifies tags assigned to Sites by checking Site Tagging Provider’s signature.
Demand-Side Platform calls Context Provider to retrieve Context Data regarding Users, Sites and Devices.
Demand-Side Platform receives Click Events shared with it by Supply-Side Platform.
Demand-Side Platform returns Payment Reports requested by Supply-Side Platforms.
Demand-Side Platform and Demand-Side Agent are free to communicate in any way they choose, as this communication is not part of Adshares Protocol. Thus, any interactions between Demand-Side Platform and its Demand-Side Agent (e.g. notifications about Conversion Events) are not covered by Adshares Protocol.
Whereas the communication between Demand-Side Platform and its Ad Pay Module might be part of Adshares Protocol in case Ad Pay Module is externalized and delivered by a third-party Software Provider. If this is the case, Demand-Side Platform calls its Ad Pay Module to outsource to it the process of generating Payment Reports.
The details of the communication between Demand-Side Platform and its Ad Pay Module are described in the Ad Pay Service section.
